Grief Matters

Funded by Children in Need this is a new service for those who have been bereaved of a family member or significant person.
We understand that the loss of someone close, no matter the circumstances, can have a huge impact on an individual.

However this service is currently for those who have experienced an unexpected or sudden loss.

•    Counselling and support provided for 12-18 year olds
•    Up to 18 one to one sessions offered either in school or a local community setting

We are also able to offer information and advice on working with and supporting those who have had a bereavement.

Bereavement awareness training is available for those who work with young people.

We are keen to hear from anyone who might benefit from this service, or from workers from other services who think that a young person is in need of support.

To refer a young person, please phone us on 01506 430225 or e-mail tam.burnett@wldas.org

Family Support Group

Family support image istockIt can be difficult to understand or accept that someone close is drinking to excess or taking drugs.

This service brings together family members who are in the same circumstances to share their experiences and gain extra support from each other.
We also offer relaxation therapies.

The group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at St John’s Hospital, Howden, Livingston.

No appointments are necessary and one of our friendly, understanding staff is there to meet new members. Contact Stevie Jack on 07795 200270 and he will meet you before the meeting starts.
